Once we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, we are called to minister. When people here the phrase “called to minster”, they immediately say that they are nobody’s preacher. The word minister does not mean to preach, it literally means to serve. We’ve all been called to a life of service. You may never mount a pulpit to take a text, or to preach a sermon, but the call to serve others is placed upon our lives as soon as we accept Jesus’s gift of salvation.
Jesus commanded His disciples to spread the gospel, make other disciples and baptize people from all nations. This may have seemed like a tough task for these 12 original followers, but they obeyed. We are His disciples of today. A disciple is not a preacher. He or she is merely a follower of Jesus Christ. If this was the commanded to His original 12 disciples, there is no need to think this command would be any different for his disciples of today. Let’s us continue to walk in the call and make disciples of others by telling everyone about our Risen Savior.
