One of the hardest things for Christians to understand is how to find joy in suffering. James 1:2 tells us to “Consider it all joy, my brethren when you encounter various trials.” In I Peter4:13, he says “To the degree that you share the suffering of Christ, keep on rejoicing” Jesus even said, ” Rejoice and be glad, for great is your reward in heaven. (Matt. 5:12) We know this is the word of the Lord. But, how is this even possible?
We must learn how to view hardships as windows into the heart of God. When we do this, our perspective changes. Suffering will begin to look and feel more like an opportunity than a curse. It gives us access to intimate fellowship with Jesus that comes only through shared suffering.
Pray for strength so that you can advance through adversity.
