The best gift I ever received was the gift of salvation. However, many led me to believe that it was smooth sailing after receiving salvation. Some also make us think that we will live a perfect life after salvation, This was not the case. The truth is some of my hardest struggles came after I received this gift of salvation. No one told me that part of salvation meant that there was some suffering and some struggles. (Psalm 34:19) The bonus is that we are no longer struggle without hope. Because we have accepted Jesus, He is our hope.
Every day we wrestle with sins like jealousy, strife, lust, selfishness and pride. Yet at the same time, we can learn to walk by the Spirit that empowers us to set aside the fleshly desires. If we completely submit, we can walk in victory over sin and self.
