Each Sunday I often here people say, they can’t wait to get to church to have another experience with God. Another statement I hear is, they can’t wait to get to church to get their praise on. The truth is, we don’t have to wait until Sunday to have an encounter with or praise God. We should be in such a relationship with Him that Sunday is merely a continuation of the bond we share with Him all week. For many, going to church is an item on one’s checklist. It’s an activity to fulfill a spiritual duty.
At times, the prophet Isaiah’s times was not so different from ours. (Isa. 29:13) “These people come near me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught.”
If your spiritual life has become mechanical, it’s time to approach your time with God differently. Pray for daily encounters with Him. Lets grow from only having weekly worship to a life of worship.
